You can keep lots of things as pets, yes I'm sure there is some type of squirrel that you can keep for a pet. I have seen people with chipmunks and flying squirrels. But FIRST what you would have to do is figure out whether it is even LEGAL in your area for you to own one. After you found out that you would have to do lots of research on exotic pets to figure out if you have the time and patience to take care of an exotic animal. Then you would have to find a good breeder of the animal, and fork over probably very large amounts of money for one.

squirrels like koala bears look lovely and cuddly ,,,they are rodents and very vicious they should be treated with extreme caution,,,,,their razor teeth (which they have to use constantly,to keep the length down)will tear your fingers to shreds and also your curtains,chairs,settees...

I think you could do with lessons on both tame and wild Animals. Squirrels are wild, so do not think of putting one in a cage. If you do, you want reporting to the RSPCA. buy yourself a proper pet, Dog, Cat. There are plenty of those that need a home.Or visit the Dogs Homes where you could find plenty there.

You can train them to come to you for food, but don't even think about taking one into the house. They will cause havoc!!!! My friend had been feeding one, it used to come to her garden every day for food. It got in her house and ripped her cushions and curtains to shreds.
You could buy a Chipmunk. very similar to a squirrel.

No, I don't think you can buy squirrels. They're too wild to be kept as pets. But if you want one really bad then why don't you go catch one yourself?
