Squirrels anatomy is similar to that of a rat. The females urine flows downward and behind. The male has a hemipene that allows it to arc away. Since squirrels are mostly arboreal, this urine stream would little to no chance of hitting them anywhere. Squirrels do not pee the wrong way...LOL Female squirrels pee at a ninety degree angle down from their bodies while male's pee goes slightly forward (it's just like the way dogs or rats pee).

When they go, it goes in a minor arch, like ) but turn it to a arch. Unless it's super windy and the wind is in their direction, it doesn't happen to them which I think is unlikely!!!! No animal gets pee in their face.
